Meet Andrew Marsh
Andrew grew up in Crawley, West Sussex, England.
After gaining his degrees in Geology and Engineering Geology he moved to Glasgow at the end of 1986 to pursue a career as an Engineering Geologist, developing his career for 23 years working on major and prestigious projects such as motorways, dams and dockyards.
In 1996 Andrew spent a year in Brunei working on a major dam project in the heart of the jungle with much of his time living in a tent supervising a large team.
In the latter part of his geological career, Andrew was a self employed Geologist providing Consultancy and Site Agent services on ground remediation projects to clients throughout the UK.
In 2009 the effects of the credit crunch forced a change and in 2010 Andrew retrained in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) which gives an insight into how the mind works and prompted a new understanding for him about how 'different' he is.
In 2015, Andrew was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and everything fell into place. If you have been facing similar challenges and discomfort, you might recognise what happened next.
Andrew came to understand the reason for some of his life challenges and why he had felt different for so many years. This has enabled Andrew to identify his own coping mechanisms and strategies that he has used to manage his life in the modern world.
The Resilient Asperger™
Andrew started his career as a Speaker and Coach in 2019, using his lived experiences of Asperger’s Syndrome together with NLP training.
He is now helping leaders, businesses, teams and individuals to better manage Asperger’s Syndrome at work.
Andrew's coaching programmes help individuals and employees who are on the spectrum to cope and succeed in the workplace - as well as helping leaders and managers to bring the best out of employees with these kinds of challenges.
In 2020, Andrew won the PSA Scotland Speaker Factor competition, speaking about his Asperger's journey and his strategic tips to Empower Asperger's Superheroes! For more, visit the Speaking page.
In his spare time, Andrew writes novels and has successfully self-published 3 novels and one work of non-fiction so far. His current work, called the Jack Janson Series, is a young adult fantasy that will be a series of 8 books when complete.
